Materials Guide
Every set of our custom grillz is handcrafted to order using a sterling silver base with a premium 8-micron gold plating in your choice of Yellow, White or Rose Gold.
All stone-set designs feature premium moissanite as standard for exceptional brilliance. For those seeking solid gold or genuine diamonds, bespoke upgrades are available on request.
Our Standard Metal
Sterling Silver (925)
Sterling silver is a precious metal made from 92.5% pure silver combined with a small amount of other metals for added strength.
It has been used in fine jewellery for centuries and is valued for its bright finish, durability and comfort.
Every standard set of our grillz starts with a sterling silver base before receiving a thick layer of gold plating.
Benefits
- Precious metal (not stainless steel or brass)
- Comfortable for everyday wear
- Hypoallergenic for most people
- Strong and durable
- Excellent foundation for premium gold plating
Premium 8 Micron Gold Plating
Unlike the very thin plating commonly found on fashion jewellery, our grillz receive an approximately 8-micron thick layer of genuine gold.
This provides a rich, luxurious finish with noticeably greater durability than standard jewellery plating.
Available finishes include:
- Yellow Gold
- White Gold
- Rose Gold
How Durable Is 8 Micron Plating?
An 8-micron coating is considered heavy gold plating, making it significantly thicker than the plating used on most jewellery.
With proper care, your grillz can maintain their appearance for a long time. However, like all plated jewellery, the finish is not permanent.
Over time, normal wear will gradually reduce the gold layer, particularly on areas that experience constant friction.
Factors that affect longevity include:
- Frequency of wear
- Contact with teeth
- Eating or drinking while wearing
- Exposure to saliva and moisture
- Cleaning methods
- Storage
Customers who wear their grillz occasionally may enjoy the finish for many years, while those wearing them daily should expect gradual wear over time.
This is completely normal and is not considered a manufacturing fault.
Can They Be Replated?
Yes.
As the base metal is sterling silver, your grillz can be professionally replated in the future if desired, restoring their original appearance.
Many customers choose to replate after years of regular use rather than replacing the entire grill.

Stone Options
Standard: Premium Moissanite
All diamond-set grillz include high-quality moissanite stones as standard.
Moissanite is one of the most popular luxury alternatives to diamonds because it offers exceptional sparkle, durability and clarity.
Why We Use Moissanite
- Outstanding brilliance
- Excellent fire and sparkle
- Extremely durable for jewellery
- Consistent colour and clarity
- Exceptional value
To the naked eye, many people find moissanite virtually indistinguishable from diamonds.
Premium Metal Upgrades
For customers wanting a solid gold grill, we also offer bespoke upgrades.
Available by request:
- Solid 9K Gold
- Solid 14K Gold
- Solid 18K Gold
